Linda Kohler, Executive Director has been with Chesapeake Charities since it awarded its first grant in 2005. She manages the daily operations of the organization and its 70+ funds, provides assistance to those interested in philanthropy, and secures resources to address community needs. Linda’s background includes banking and finance. She served as Managing Director for Millenium Capital Development, an investment firm specializing in telecommunications and information technology products; and Vice President of Treasury Bank, a “boutique bank” chartered in the District of Columbia. Linda is a Standards for Excellence® Licensed Consultant specializing in grants, evaluation, and strategic planning.
Mary Ann Gleason, Grants & Evaluation Specialist. Mary Ann Gleason’s career has been focused on improving the quality of local organizations and providing oversight of program start-ups. For over a decade she focused on connecting nonprofit organizations in Queen Anne’s County with the resources they needed to initiate change and sustain their efforts. Mary Ann’s work with community partners facilitated the creation or viability of organizations such as Partnering for Youth After School Program (now in its 20th year), Corsica River Mental Health Services, Healthy Families Mid-Shore, Queen Anne’s County Character Counts!, and Chesapeake Helps. Most recently, Mary Ann served as the Executive Director of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Queen Anne’s and Kent Counties.
Meg Gallagher, Marketing & Communication Specialist. Meg’s career in business administration and marketing includes experience in the fields of finance, publishing and construction. For 15 years, she was part of a Marketing and Communications team for a financial services corporation in Baltimore County, creating and managing their client event management program. Her nonprofit experience began in 2011 as marketing and membership coordinator for Adkins Arboretum. Meg focuses much of her attention to website, marketing and communications. Meg is a Planning Commissioner for the Town of Hillsboro in Caroline County.
Patti Boone joined Chesapeake Charities in 2015 as a part time Office Manager. Patti uses her accounting and organizational skills to manage the daily functions in support of our funds. Patti’s experience includes several years at Queenstown Bank followed by a career with the State of Maryland. She is recently retired from the Maryland Judiciary, having served for 10 years as the Accounting Manager for the District Court of Maryland for Anne Arundel County. She is an active member of Kent Island United Methodist Church, and the Kent Island Cruisers Classic Car Club.
